| Our unit participates in, and hosts, a number of different events across the country and world. Our unit holds quarterly training events where we spend the weekend learning and experiencing what life was like for the Airborne combat infantryman. These weekends have included living in fox holes, eating K-Rations and D-Bars, night patrols, and enemy identification training. We also participate in a number of public display events. We have participated in such events as: Fort Indiantown Gap event Rockford, IL’s Midway Village Living History Days Jefferson Barracks Missouri event Batavia, IL Memorial Day event Western Kentucky and Tennessee Chapter of the 101st Airborne Division’s All Airborne Picnic Des Plaines, IL 4th of July Parade and Des Plaines area events Thunder Over Michigan Tactical events are also important to us, especially after our training events. These events are ones that simulate actual combat. We have participated in events such as Fort Indiantown Gap, PA and Neoga, IL Spring of 1945 tactical. |
